The Message, greater than the Messenger.

As human beings we at times have the tendency to base information off of a persons character, rather than the importance of that knowledge. For example, we are more prone to believe a Police Officer than maybe someone who is just passing us by on the street.

In some cases this can be true, but when it relates to the Word of God we should take heed with discernment. The Bible states that we are all corrupted and fall short of His glory Romans 3:23. This means even the most pristine man or woman is susceptible to corruption, in this we must discern ALL people in correct teachings.

We forget that the Lord uses the broken and fallen to bring Himself glory. 1 Corinthians 1:27, “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.”

Proof of this is found in the Apostle Paul who persecuted many Christians until the Lord made Himself known to him. Imagine the people of that time listening to God’s plan for redemption from him. Then imagine those who turned away from knowing Jesus based off of Paul’s past life. This is why we take heed to the Word, and base it off of truth of the Bible and not the person.

Trust in the Word and discern it, no matter who is speaking it. Remember many also dismissed Jesus at one time Matthew 13:55-56, “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?” Shalom
