Avoiding Dissension In The Church…

22 Apr

Titus 3:9, “But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.”

The Gospel message, is one of the easiest theologies to place your Faith in. The Scripture states in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” A easy enough belief, however at times we come to have disputes over other aspects of the Bible.

Some of these petty differences are, the real day of the Sabbath, are we all still to be baptized by water,  or the exact time month of Jesus’s birth. While we can debate these topics, we should never allow them to divide us in our core belief in Jesus Christ to be saved. The aforementioned topics are secondary to the Gospel, and do not equate acceptance by YAH (God) for us to be saved.

I pray for friendly discussions on these topics, but we need to always return back to Jesus and Him crucified, Shalom…

Wrongfully Judging Others…

14 Apr

1 Corinthians 5:12-13, “ For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the  evil person.”

By judging others is one of the quickest ways for non-believers to despise the Gospel. I have seen many Christians try to “minister” the grace of Jesus  Christ by telling others first what they are doing wrong. In doing so, it is only natural for individuals to go on the defensive and respond in kind to the apparent hate.

We Disciples must always engage with love (1 Corinthians 16:14) first then the Gospel message of Jesus Christ crucified for our sins (1 Corinthians 1:23). If the Spirit chooses and the individual is saved, then we can begin with assisting those with the purification of ones ways. Remember, we are only to correct Believers as stated in 1 Corinthians 5:12-13.”

Winning those to Christ is done with his nature in mind which is love (1 John 4:7), and not by the judgement of others, for only God can judge the world. Allow the Holy Spirit to use you to spread love to the world, and allow your kindness to convict others to learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Shalom.
