Wells Without Water…

25 Jul

2 Peter 2:17, “These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.”

2 Peter 2:17 speaks of the moral depravity (moral corruption) of the world that we live in. While the good still outweighs the bad modern society is quickly deteriorating. From family values to education to the eradication of Jesus from our culture, we are in a steady decline of morality. People today turn to wells without water when in need for restoration, correction and most importantly salvation.

While instead of dealing with spiritual health, many rather go to the gym, a life coach or unsaved friends and family. Our focus is on making money, wanting to promote ourselves in this natural world more than in YAH. While the well may look good to drink from, ultimately they will find that they are spiritually empty.

Matthew 4:4 reads, “But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Jesus is the only well made for man and woman to drink from. Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

At times many believers will blur the lines between grace and sinless perfection. While we all are called to be sinless in the eyes of YAH, their is only one individual who can make that claim, in Jesus. Ephesians 4:22 reads, “to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”

Sinless perfection is impossible in the flesh (Romans 7:14-24). When we accept the Cross of Christ we are made whole spiritually in him. Grace is the gift of the Most High for when we do sin we can still be reconciled back until Him. 2 Corinthians 12:9 states, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me,” Shalom…
