Jesus Wept…

28 May

John 11:35, “Jesus wept.”

Jesus weeping for the recently deceased Lazarus is a testimony to His humanity.  Not only sympathizing with his loved ones, but for the destruction sin has brought into this world. Death was never apart of YAH’s plan for this world and mankind. From the very beginning the Most High was a creator and life bringer. It wasn’t until sin entered in through original sin did this world and us begin to decay spiritually and physically.

Through Jesus sin has been done away with. While we still will age, become sick and pass away we have eternal life spiritually with Him. John 11:25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” Jesus revealed that our death is like Lazarus mentioned in John 11:4, “When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.“

If we or our loved ones should pass away before the second coming it is not unto eternal death, as we will be with Him. Jesus empathizes with for us in our fallen state, giving us the grace to endure until the end when death is no more. 1 Corinthians 15:26-27, “The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.” Shalom.

Jesus Christ, The Glory of YAH Revealed…

24 May

Colossians 2:9-10, “ For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”

In Jesus Christ the fullness of the Most High has been fully revealed. In Christ the personification of YAH is revealed to be love. 1 John 4:7 reads, “

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” That love is then described in John 3:16 , “

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.“ Love is the driving force behind the Most High.

Out of love, Jesus was sent forth to reconcile a lost creation back unto its creator. Once we place our faith in the finished work of the cross, we receive forgiveness for our sins along with grace and mercy. That love gives us the authority to overcome the obstacles of this natural world. 1 Corinthians 13:7, Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” Shalom..

The Need For Spiritual Water…

18 Apr

John 7:37-38, On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

The human body can function no more than only 3 days without water. It is not a coincidence that Jesus compared the need for water to the need for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the helper, who will teach us all things pertaining to Jesus Christ (John 14:26).

The need to study and be around other believers especially in these trying times will strengthen our faith, improving our spiritual endurance. Drinking of the living water of Christ will ensure we are operating in the spirit 2 Peter1:5-8,

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.“

In order for fruit to grow, plants require water and that water provides the necessary energy for it to grow. Is your spirit thirsting for water? We all need to stay in His word so that we do not become barren, Shalom.

Can You Be A Christian And Not Believe  In The Crucifixion/Resurrection?

8 Apr

1 Corinthians 15:14, “And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.“

I recently heard that if you remove the crucifixion and deity from Jesus, his story is more beneficial to win non believers to the faith. While the teachings of Christ are great to adhere to regards in how to treat every man and woman, unfortunately that alone will not save you.

While Jesus Christ was sent into this Earth to show everyone how to live for YAH, His main reason was to be the offering for our sins. Ephesians 5:2, “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.“

The actions of Jesus speaks more for humanity. In removing the separation created by sin through Adam and Eve’s original sin. Romans 6:23 reads, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.“ The Lord bore that sin in His body on the cross. 1 Peter 2:24, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.“

Living right is never a substitute for the Cross of Christ. As the cross is the only way to be justified in the eyes of YAH. The cross is cure for humanities infirmities with living justified is a byproduct of it, Shalom.

The Credence Of The Eyewitness Accounts…

21 Mar

2 Peter 1:16, “For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”

The eye witness accounts of the risen Jesus Christ is one of the foundations of the Christian faith. Being born again and having faith in the Holy Bible is supported by key eye witness testimony.

1 Corinthians 15:3-8, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.”

The crucifixion of Jesus happened between 28 to 33 AD. With the earliest written accounts documented being the Apostle Paul’s letters. The book of Galatians was transcribed 48 AD and First Thessalonians between 49-51, and the earliest Gospel of Mark written 70 or 80 AD. The earliest being Galatians which was written 20 to 25 years after the ressurection.

Paul after His born again experience (Acts 9) traveled and spoke with those who saw the risen Jesus. Documenting their accounts not only to strengthen His faith but unknowingly ours. Separating facts from mythology and into historical truth. While the Gospel accounts differentiate in all four books in small details (as can be expected as all witness may have seen different details from that day) they all claim that Jesus did die and was risen from the dead by YAH.

I look forward to when we as Believers can give our own testimony of seeing the risen Jesus after the second coming, Shalom…

Josephus

18 Mar

Josephus a Roman/Jewish historian between AD 37-AD 100, is an important extra-biblical individual to the Christian faith. Important due to the fact he documented that Jesus Christ lived and His existence is recorded outside of the Holy Bible. His two most famous works, The Jewish War and Antiquities of the Jews which accounts of key people, events and the Jewish way of life.
While I believe the Holy Bible should always be the main source of any account of Jesus Christ it’s always refreshing to hear about our Savior outside of the scriptures (see below), Shalom.

Now, there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works-a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ; (64) and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; and the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day.

The Big Bang and The Resurrection, The Bible’s Two Great Miracles…

3 Mar

Genesis 1:3, “Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.“

Outside of the resurrection of Jesus Christ the Big Bang is one of YAH’s most impressive miracles! The calling of the physical universe into existence from nothing. The Big Bang is astronomers way of explaining how this universe began from a single point and expanded out.

When you think of the idea, nothing can manifest into a physical form from nothing. Space, time, planets and gravity came into existence from nowhere to form perfect harmony for sustaining life. The individual creating the universe also must exist outside of it, as nothing is created from within if nothing existed first.

Once the world fell into sin from the fall, YAH once again said “Let their be light,” and sent Jesus into the world to save us all. John 8:12, “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Born of a virgin, perfect in nature and without sin.

Two miracles, one proven through the scriptures and recorded eyewitness accounts, the other through science and theory. Both pointing to a omnipotent divine creator, willing to invade time and space to create and save His creation, Shalom…

The Harmony of The Gospels…

The Harmony of The Gospels…

The Gospels of Jesus Christ each carry a unique look into the life of the Messiah. Beginning with Matthew which defines Jesus as YAH’s king. Recorded through the lineage (Matt chapter 1) of Mary to King David and then to Abraham, done to show His fulfillment of 2 Samuel 7 in scripture.

The Gospel of Mark presents Jesus as a humble servant. Mark 10:45 states, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” This presents the idea that in order to be Christ like we too must be servants of the Most High, sacrificing who we are to reflect His goodness unto the world.

Luke presents Christ as the “Son of Man.” The genealogy recorded by Luke in chapter 3 follows Joseph bloodline and not Mary’s all the way back to Adam (Luke identifies Jesus as the son of Joseph through marriage law and not blood.) Jesus refers to himself by this title fulfilling Daniel 7. This title expresses his sovereignty in the Earth. The same sovereignty we had before the fall of man into sin, and stresses that in Christ we return back to that.

John’s Gospel proclaims Jesus Christ as YAH, the great I AM (Exodus 3:14). John records Jesus claim to the title many differs times (John 6:35, 41, 48, 51, Chp 8: 12, Chp 10:7,9, Chp 11:25, Chp 10:11,14, Chp 14:6, Chp 15:1,5.

The harmony of the four Gospels presents Jesus Christ as King, Servant, Man and God, Shalom…

The Great Requirement…

15 Feb

I often wonder how well I am stewarding the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As outlined in 1 Corinthians 12:4-10 they include wisdom, knowledge, faith, healings, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, speaking in tongues and interpretating tongues, as well as being commissioned to spread the Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20.)

All of these gifts carry a heavy responsibility, in sharing with the unsaved world in hopes of winning more to Jesus Christ. Imagine being a paramedic or police officer and refusing to offer assistance to those in need. Spreading the Gospel needs to be looked at in the same way. As the world becomes more and more sinful and blasphemous we need to provide a alternative to worldliness.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ shouldn’t be withheld from the world once we have received it. First in spreading the message of the cross, then sharing our gifts with the Church. The great requirement much like a first responder is to provide assistance to save lives, but even more so with the Gospel to save them spiritually, Shalom.

In The Light, Darkness Will Flee…

1 Feb

John 8:12, “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

One of the most amazing things to know, is that Jesus Christ is the eternal light of the world and our Spirits. Though this light is spiritual it is symbolic of natural light. A comforting thing to know is that darkness can never overtake the light while light, will always overtake the darkness.

This eternal light is the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This light overtakes the darkness found in our human bodies which is sin. Sin  creates a separation from us and YAH, and upon receiving Jesus as our Savior this light comes to live within us.

The light of the Gospels extinguishes all darkness which is why we are charged to spread it throughout the world Matthew 28:19-20. We are commissioned to bring this light to everyone, in doing so omitting the darkness in themselves and the world, Shalom.
