John 1 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
I have heard arguments, that sins not directly addressed in the Bible are actually permissible. For instance some aspects of sexual sin were not directly addressed by Christ, so it becomes ok. This framework of thinking has crept into the minds of Believers in a way to justify sinning.
While the Bible does not address all sin, it address what constitutes as sin. That being transgressing the Law. The Law of God from the Ten Commandments to the Levitical Law (Deuteronomy 18) outlined numerous sins which short stated anything short of perfection is sin. As being created by a perfect God we should in turn be perfect. While achieving perfection is impossible in the flesh, through Christ sacrifice for out sins we are able to live justly in the eyes of God (John 3:16).
Now while Jesus or the Bible did not address every sin, which would made the scriptures so encompassing it is laid out we are to live as Christ and die to the flesh (Philippians 1:21). As followers we must discern what being in Christ and Holiness pertains to. Are living to please ourselves or God who is holy? Are the thoughts and our actions in alignment with The Lord’d original plan for mankind?
If not we must reassess and bring our actions and thinking unto submission of our Holy God. I pray we all take heed and submit accordingly until the Word of God, Shalom…
