Luke 23:42-43New King James Version (NKJV)
“Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
How will Jesus Christ remember you is a important question. As we journey through this life the way we carry ourselves will have an impact on the Lord’s memory of us. Have we asked for repentance? Did we walk in love? Did we promote positivity in our communities?
Our first priority is repentance. This is what allows us to to walk in the Holy Spirit and turns our human nature into being godly. The blood of Christ covers our sins, and allows the Spirit to guide and empower us. This is what makes us Disciples and witnesses to the works of Jesus. The thief sought forgiveness next to Jesus above all, recognizing He was the only way to see the Father.
Repentance will lead to love. Love is the dominant characteristic of God, 1 John 4:8 “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Moving in love provides a light unto the world and testimony of what Jesus has done. Regardless of the worlds mistreatment, love will overcome it and drive out hate. Love is the most powerful force in the known world, because it is God.
Lastly, I wish Jesus will remember my positivity and charity. How I treated people, friend and enemy shows great character. How we help the homeless, or friends who fall on hard times, and we extended our hand. Promotes the Kingdom of God and will draw more into repentance.
So how do I want Jesus to remember me? As a disciple, being a light unto this world, showcasing the gift of everlasting life trough the Blood of Jesus Christ, Shalom…
